“A Fire Adapted Community is a cohesive community of informed and prepared citizens planning and taking action to safely coexist with wildfire."

IS MY HOME AT RISK?

According to the Park County Community Wildfire Protection Plan, “the Bailey area is the largest area of high risk, in that it contains the largest population and amount of development…and is located within and adjacent to heavily forested lands with a high fire occurrence history, including several large fires. It has high values at risk, generally high fuels risk, and high ignition risk.”

This critical assessment shows that fire mitigation and emergency planning are not optional - but essential safeguards for our community.

It's not a question of IF another fire will occur, but WHEN!

WHAT CAN I DO?

Be proactive and well prepared.

By investing in mitigation efforts now and having thorough emergency plans in place, you can significantly reduce potential losses and protect both lives and property when facing future wildfire events.

Check out our What Is Firewise? page for information on how to become a Firewise Community and our Resources Page for links to a variety of educational materials.
